Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers Review

There are few if any laptops on the market with high quality built-in speakers. If you try to push them for performance, you'll end up blowing them before you know it. Although there are plenty of speaker options on the market, few take into account the desire to be completely mobile while providing as good enough quality to merit their purchase.

Logitech is one of the greatest producers of computer peripherals. When I had a chance to see their Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers I felt a swelling of hope inside that perhaps these speakers would fit my needs. What really impressed me was that they connect through just one USB port. That one plug handles the power and audio distribution for both speakers. Compared to having an extra power brick to lug around, these already have an upper hand over most other speakers I could use for my laptop.

But how do they sound? I feel that they provided really rich highs and lows but seemed to miss a little something on the mids. For $60 I'll settle, and most people won't even notice the difference. The sound quality could easily compete against speakers up to twice the price. It really made a difference over the laptop speakers that I was use to listing through.

Rarely do I actually install the software for hardware, but after reading up on it, I found out that the series of buttons on the right speaker could control windows sound interface if properly configured. Considering I don't always need my laptop open when I'm listening to music, this made it easy to close the screen and still have access to all of my controls.

If you've blown your speakers like I have and are looking for some decent replacements, I highly recommend the Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers.
