Acer Aspire One

The Acer Inspire One is a tiny notebook computer which has shown average performance over the counter. It comprises of a TFT screen and an Intel Atom processor. Models are already installed with a home edition for windows XP, and dishes out an elementary user interface. Firefox and OpenOffice are default applications made accessible easily on the main screen.

At it's outset it was made available in white and blue color scheme and assisted a 3-cell battery. With time, Acer has brought in models in various other shades inclusive of pink, red, and black. It also assists larger 6 cell battery. Few models of the said category have also been able to come up with 3G wireless adaptors. This enables access to internet through mobile networks. Manufactured by Quanta Computers, the notebook has been able to stand to certain dimensions and at the same time come up with many anomalies which have disturbed buyers all side of the stratum.

Presently, the Versions of Aspire One are preinstalled with 8 GB of flash solid state storage. It might as well have a 120 GB hardware drive along the conventional format. LCD is known to be exhibiting screen flickers in Acer’s case. This has turned into a regular anomaly. This generally happens when the LCD is dimmed to its least modulation. Few infer it as a formatting fault with the +5VDC not being able to supply adequate current to the Light Emitting Diode. Acer has sprung up to the occasion by bringing out BIOS which prohibits three of the dimmest levels to operate. Level 4 thus takes on the dimmest gradient for brightness.

Perhaps due to the updations of firmware or may be some manufacturing issues, few machines are showing Bricking. This implies a proper shutdown, but on repowering, the machine refuses to boot up. It’s only the power LED and the fan which function in such cases.
