Toshiba Vs HP Laptops
Thursday, September 4, 2008
Top among the most popular laptops available for sale and pick up these days are Toshiba and HP laptops. The reasons for their popularity are based on a few attributes:
1. User Friendliness: Like it or not, these laptops are truly a beauty to use and make the whole experience of using a laptop worth the while. With its sleek touchpad , processor speed -32 bit or 64 bit- RAM size and screen size which truly come in different sizes and with different graphic resolutions, these laptops provide a unique and highly exciting user experience.
2. Gaming and Entertainment: These two makes of laptops have different gaming experiences. For instance, the HP dv6000+ series are specifically built for pure entertainment. So if you love playing computer games, these series would be great for your gaming experience. However, while the Toshiba a205 series has great music and sound output as a result of the embedded surround technology, they are no match for the superior graphic and visual experience that the HP dv 6000+ series provide.
While these two are just examples of their functionalities, most people seem to prefer the HP series of laptops because of its battery power, durability, and range of visual effects. While others would prefer using the Toshiba for basic uses such as listening to music and watching videos.
From the user experience gathered from Toshiba laptops users, Toshiba laptops have the tendency to freeze up frequently. As a user clearly states that it “Freezes a lot and horrible battery life my battery crapped out only a year and a half after I bought her user complains about the battery life which is less than satisfactory as most users have to upgrade the battery just a few months after purchase. While many users agree that it works okay and that the price seems good, they complain a lot about the frequent repairs, its lack of reliability and durability.
According to another user “The battery life is absolutely horrible I have 0 minutes at 72%, which leads to having my charger plugged in 24/7 thus leading to overheat almost all of them. Very little RAM built in, you will have to buy more RAM eventually. I've already had to use the reboot twice and it still continues to be dreadful. The computer tends to overheat a lot, plan on buying Co2 spray. Also, it freezes very often on startup. Keys come off very often. Overall, you may think you are getting a good deal with the price, but you will spend much money repairing it.”
Apparently, Toshiba laptops are not as good as HP laptops when there are a lot of processing to be done and the system has to carry out heavy tasks flawlessly as it freezes up frequently. Besides users also complained about a lack of support from their customer services to enhance the user experience. For instance, a user complains that “there are a lot of things I don't know how to do with this laptop...it didn't come with an operator's manual...is there a way to get one online?” and this coupled with their lack of response to emails and written requests, makes the laptop a very had nut to crack.
