Founded on the 1st of April, 1976, Apple, Inc blazed the trails for PC users by the introduction of the Apple I. Since then they have never looked back as the computer has gone through the necessary stages of development and has become transformed into a machine of beauty particularly for word processing functions. Apple computers are well known and were first to introduce a GUI system. Apple computers have however gone from what it was in 1976 to become a lot more sophisticated and impressive in its features. The Apple has an array of products and some of the available models are:

The Macbook which was manufactured and developed after the iBook G4 set of laptops also replaces the PowerBook G4. Hitherto, apple laptops were based on the Power PC config and thus were able to carry out most processes that normal PCs do. However, the new Macbook comes with the latest processor technology as it is now equipped with Intel Core Duo Processor technology. The processor speed is available in 3 varied configurations. These are the 1.83 GHz and 2.0 GHz with a white polycarbonate enclosure and a 2.0 GHz model in a matte black case. The Macbook is also equipped with top of the range iSight webcam while the latch is basically magnetic.
2. The Macbook Pro. This laptop was created when Apple decided to ditch its iBook and Powerbook brands. The Macbook pro is adjudge the first Intel based laptop that Apple created in recent years. The processor is driven by Intel Core Duo technology and have varying processor speeds of between 1.67 GHz and 1.83Gz while their RAMs vary between 512Mb and 2GB RAM. It is equipped with 2 USB ports, Bluetooth, remote input, iSight webcam and FrontRow FireWire 400. Other facilities that it has includes a 15.4” screen that has a 1440 x 990 color display, dual layer DVD burner, 80GB and 100GB hard disk drive, and can be run on a windows platform.
3. The iBook. In 1999, Apple Inc introduced a new range of laptop computers and the new genre was named the iBook. Its unique selling point was the reduced cost which made it affordable for students and small business owners. Cheaper than the Powerbook, it also lacked some basic facilties like the USB ports. The iBook which had two versions -12” and 14” models- was replaced by the more equipped Macbook which was introduced in 2006.
Apple laptops have come along way and are commonly found among many PC users. The Macbook even makes it easier to run Windows based applications on it thus increasing the demand. If you prefer a “pretty” working environment with maximum functionality, Apple laptops are a must.
