Virgin sends the rich into space

Wednesday, January 31, 2007

The company Virgin Galactic is 60% finished creating the private space ship and plans to start flights in a test mode this summer. The White Knight Two starting system is based on the SpaceShipOne technology, which have already been used for successful flights in the outer space. The advantage of this decision, leaving alone its economy, is its ecological safety because the ship is geothermal- and sun energy-powered (in future, there will be experiments with biological fuel).

With the help of this new transport means, the company plans to launch up to 8 people and some other cargo into the outer space. It will be like satellite or scientific equipment. The primary Virgin Galactic’s aim is to make space tourism less expansive. For today, Virgin has already registered more than 200 future astronauts and 85 thousand of interested people. 80 people have already passed health examination and all the required tests and got the permission for the flight.
