The price of wireless connectivity has been decreasing at the same time that advancements in that field have greatly increased. Every cellular provider offers some tailored service specifically for you to connect your laptop to the internet wirelessly. This isn't referring to WiFi hotspots, but the ability to connect wherever you are as long as you have a cellular signal.

Laptop GPS Navigation
Monday, March 3, 2008
The need for a GPS Navigation unit in a laptop is currently useless in my opinion. Considering the relatively inexpensive nature of self sufficient GPS units, it's hard to grasp why someone would want to attach an external device to their laptop. While laptops have become increasingly more portable, most cellphones have built in GPS technology, providing portability that they can't.

Nicholas Negroponte, Co-Founder and director of MIT Media Laboratory, is the brains behind One Laptop Per Child. OLPC's goal was to create the XO Laptop, a low cost device that would advance the education of children world wide. While the initial mission statement was to provide a $100 laptop, increased costs have brought it up to $200 if you're donating the laptop. If you're looking to purchase one for yourself, the cost is $400 for an XO Laptop.

Acer Travelmate 2480-2153
Tuesday, March 11, 2008
The Acer Travelmate 2480-2153 notebook is smaller than most laptops we've reviewed in this price range. You're going ot be dealing with a 14.1 inch widescreen operating in 1280 x 800 resolution. While that might not be to big of an issue for the portable crowd, the Travelmate is still in the midsized notebook category.

Review: Compaq Presario f730us notebook
Tuesday, March 11, 2008
Compaq has always put out some sharp looking laptops over the years, and their newest model in the Presario line is no different. The Compaq Presario F730us is an excellent mid-sized reasonably priced dual core system. Powered by the AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK-55, this 1.8 GHz processor should be able to hold it's own for many of the functions you'll be using it for.

If you're looking for a laptop on a limited budget, you've already accepted the fact that you're going to lose out on some functionality that the more expensive systems offer. Many people looking to spend less on a laptop have already accepted this and may even be looking for just a basic system to handle their day to day as a secondary computer. The Acer Aspire 5315-2191 Notebook fits this need perfectly without breaking your budget or your back.

Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers Review
Friday, February 29, 2008
There are few if any laptops on the market with high quality built-in speakers. If you try to push them for performance, you'll end up blowing them before you know it. Although there are plenty of speaker options on the market, few take into account the desire to be completely mobile while providing as good enough quality to merit their purchase.

Sony VAIO VGN-NR160E Review
Monday, January 28, 2008
When you think of Sony notebooks, "budget" doesn't often come to mind. Apparently with their new VAIO VGN-NR160E they wanted to change that point of view. This straight to the point laptop leaves all the bells and whistles behind and gives you just what you need to get by and still sport the Sony logo.
